You’re not alone in this
pregnancy journey.
At The Doula Cooperative, we believe every family deserves compassionate, culturally appropriate maternity care—regardless of income. Our mission is to train and support diverse doulas who reflect the communities they serve, ensuring that underserved families receive high-quality, accessible pregnancy, birth and postpartum support. Through education, advocacy, and community-centered care, we strive to create a future where every birth is met with dignity, empowerment, and compassionate support.
Doula Training & Support Hub
Our doula training empowers new doulas with skills, mentorship, support groups, continuing education, and lifelong career development. We prioritize training doulas from underserved communities, ensuring they reflect and support the families they serve.
Community Center & Play Cafe
Our community center and play cafe provide a welcoming space for parents to connect, find support, and access resources. Families can enjoy classes, workshops, and a safe, clean play environment for their children with yummy and healthy snack options.
Classes & Continuing Education
Our classes offer baby yoga, lactation support, Spinning Babies techniques, and nutrition education. Parents learn child-led weaning, baby-to-toddler feeding stages, and healthy cooking. Our boutique corner provides gently used baby carriers, breast pumps, and essentials.
At our new doula training hub, we are dedicated to empowering doulas with the skills, knowledge, mentorship, support and continuing education needed to become compassionate & professional doulas. This includes but is not limited to: comprehensive doula training, hands on learning, real-life simulations, mentorship with networking opportunities, in person and zoom options, supportive community, career support and holistic approaches to mind-spirit connections.
Doula Training and Support Hub
At The Doula Cooperative, we are committed to training and supporting doulas who reflect the communities they serve. Our comprehensive 12-week doula training program equips students with the knowledge, hands-on skills, and cultural competency needed to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. Each cohort consists of 9-12 students, ensuring personalized instruction and mentorship. While the cost of training is $1,897 per student, our mission is to offer full scholarships to diverse doulas dedicated to serving underserved communities. By removing financial barriers, we help create a more inclusive and accessible birth support network, ensuring that every family—regardless of income—receives the care they deserve.
Our support for doulas extends far beyond training. We offer continuing education opportunities, peer mentorship, and support groups to help doulas grow in their careers. Through ongoing workshops, networking events, and specialized training in lactation support, postpartum care, and trauma-informed birth work, we empower doulas to expand their skills and impact. Our community fosters connection and professional development, creating a strong foundation for doulas to thrive while making a meaningful difference in maternal and infant health.
Our upcoming class starts Fall 2025!
Find a Doula
Find a Doula
Research has shown that continuous support during labor from a doula can lead to better birth outcomes, including lower rates of cesarean sections, reduced use of pain medication, and shorter labor times. Studies also highlight the positive effects doulas have on maternal well-being, such as increased satisfaction with the birth experience, decreased anxiety, and improved postpartum mental health. The presence of a doula ensures that mothers feel heard, supported, and empowered, which can significantly improve the overall birthing experience.
The Doula Cooperative is here to guide you in finding the right doula to meet your needs, helping you navigate the journey with confidence and care.
